Red Hat released their second point release to the EL7 series today. Most if not all of the sources seem to already be in place on git.centos.org, so we can start the rebuild and QA cycle. Red Hat release notes can be found here.
It is not yet decided, if we do a CR-release with the build packages, or if it will be a release with ISOs and all. Our reading of the errata released with 7.2 indicates no critical security update. We will post news on this matter here. Those errata can be found here.
As Regulars know, this will take some time, and the next minor release of CentOS-7 will be done when it is done. So it can be either 7.1511 or 7.1512.
Stay tuned.

There has been heavy rebasing in this release, so please do a full release with ISOs and all.
Please do a full ISO as I have a system that I would like to set-up with 7.2 from ISO when it is available.
I agree with the previous comment. There have been major version bumps on many of the packages, especially for desktop users (Gnome 3.8 -> 3.14 anyone?). A full release with ISOs would be appropriate.
I would really appreciate a full ISO release as well; especially with the rebasing of Gnome.
Cool 🙂
(Psst! Red Hat when written is always two words - http://www.redhat.com/f/pdf/corp/trademark_usage.pdf 🙂 )
I agree that the new install iso would be nice. Whole GTK and Gnome stuff rebased is itself a lot. I hope the update from 7.1 will be smooth. 😉
Yes - please make it a full release with ISO's etc. 7.2.1512 (or 7.2.1511 if things go well)
Hello,
So when we can expect CentOS 7.2 ?
Please do a full release.
I would ask that you give a regular and detailed updates to progress and based on prevailing progress, a regularly updated estimate on release of Alpha's, Beta's and Production Media.
I accept that this may be a long drawn out procedure, however the provision of regular updates will help appease all the CentOS fans waiting impatiently!
It might also reduce the number and frequency of messages asking when it is coming out!
Full ISO please.
Hi Folks,
Just want to say that there will certainly be an ISO set, along with all the media ( cloud images, vagrant boxs, containers, live media etc ). However, these things can take a few more days to get together and test. Given the number of changes going in here, we are trying to workout if it makes sense to also release the updated rpms ahead of the ISO media, so people dont need to wait the extra few days, if they already have a CentOS Linux 7 install.
The ISO's and media is definitely going to happen.
Glad to hear Singh. Take your time, this release will be worth it 🙂
Any possibility to help testing aka beta releases?
You can already update using the CR repository, we are just waiting on the ISO release. Seeing as how the CR repo is full I don't think you will have a long wait.
Pls release a new iso and also if possible try using the new Anaconda installer provided in Fedora 22 or 23 which without a doubt is better than the one provided in Centos 7.1
Thanks a lot and glad to hear from you people. Exellent work keep it up.
Thanks Karan. That's really great news! Eagerly awaiting the updated release. Keep up the good work...
Please set VERSION_ID="7.2" in /etc/os-release
Hello
Hardly ever can see in the comments the appreciation to the gigantic task of revising the ISO image and incorporating the changes into it...,so we appreciate and value your works and thanks providing the 7.2
Well, I am tuned, but still nothing.
I love the cloud images for our packer to openstack pipeline. Thanks!
Just noticed CentOS 7 1511 (aka 7.2) is out!

I have updated my CentOS 7 system (22 December 2015). After that my wifi connected laptop has lost connection to my wifi network (and to the Internet). After some investigation (ifconfig) I have found that (not connected) ethernet interface has the same address as wifi one (and seems to be up)
The disabling of 'wired network' was required to make system working.
cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core)
