Test install on a laptop that has other OSes

I have a laptop that has Win7, RHEL-6 and some other distros and used it to do a test install of EL7beta.

anaconda identified the installed Linux OSes and created proper entries for grub2. However, it did not find Win7. The Release Notes for RHEL 7beta says,

"In addition to the Linux file systems, GRUB 2 also supports non-Linux file systems such as Apple Hierarchical File System Plus (HFS+) and Microsoft's NTFS file system."

Maybe so in the GA release ...

Another thing to note is that I was not given a chance to avoid installation of grub in the MBR. So, I had to reinstall grub from RHEL-6 and then create a chainloader for EL7beta. Not nice. 🙁

Err, actually not a chainload but a regular grub stanza for EL7beta. 🙂

I have installed RHEL7B1 on a locally built workstation based on a Asus M5A99X R2.0 motherboard (8GB RAM, AMD FX-6150 CPU, 1TB sata drive, GForce 210 NVIDIA graphics, Realtek r8169 NIC) and on a Dell M4500 Precision Mobile Workstation (8GB RAM, i7core CPU, 500GB sata drive, Quadro FX 1800M NVIDIA Graphics, Intel Centrino 6200-N wireless NIC, Intel 82577LM wired NIC {e1000e driver} ).

I have no hardware issues on either machine, but both are single boot on the new OS devices.
