CentOS for RISC-V Now Available
Friday, 30, May 2025 Jefro announcement, risc-v, SIG No Comments

Following up on our announcement last week of the developer preview of RHEL 10 on RISC-V and the announcement of initial CentOS support for RISC-V, the RHEL downloads are now available at developers.redhat.com/products/rhel-riscv

Note that to access the downloads you must be logged in to your Red Hat account.

As mentioned previously, the vast majority of the changes needed to get CentOS to build and run on RISC-V have already landed into our dist-git repositories. For the few remaining ones, we are making the dist-git trees available through the ISA SIG.

Some of the repositories found at https://gitlab.com/CentOS/isa/rpms/ will now have a “c10s-rv” branch. That’s where the RISC-V specific changes live.

Note that this is a temporary measure only. We are actively working to get the final set of changes merged so that CentOS Stream will build on RISC-V out of the box.

For further updates and to engage with the project, please connect with the ISA SIG via the centos-devel list.

At this time Red Hat would like to stress that we have not performed implementation work on any other hardware than the SiFive HiFive Premier P550.
