CentOS 8.0.1905 build status

Thursday, 9, May 2019 Fabian Arrotin announcement, builds, distro 6 Comments

Hi,

As everybody is probably aware now, RHEL 8.0 was released earlier this week .

Instead of publishing multiple blog posts here and then point to updated content, we decided this time to have a dedicated wiki page that can be used to track our current status : https://wiki.centos.org/About/Building_8

So now you can look at that page while we're busy on those tasks, and refresh from time to time.

Let's spread the news about the wiki page and point people (on mailing-lists, irc, forums, etc) to that page to get all latest news about CentOS 8.0.1905 build status !

    Great initiative!

    An improvement to be sure

But there has been no apparent updates since 8th May - 2 full weeks without any apparent progress - although the page does seem to be updated almost daily - I do not see changes to the Timeline.

Please can we add some kind of daily progress report, to say what has happened - however small, or what problems have arisen.

    and/or

increased granularity in the Timeline schedule so we can see more regular changes

Yeah, it would be nice to see some updates.

It's done when it's done, simple as that. If you want micro status updates simply get involved with the project and help out.

RedHat looks not interested to help a CentOS with him work, just provide an additional delays in CentOS work.

    loop0 isn't finished for month..

Of course, since Scientific Linux - the last priceless(!) alternative to RedHat - has vanished, there is no reason helping CentOS with its publishing...
